Kurt wanted to use the above title for his second album, but went with In Utero instead. He wasn't going to beat his addiction, because he didn't want to. It's possible that if you and his bandmates had stopped nagging him and staging interventions and just let him keep using the drug, he might have lived to be a geriatric drug user like Timothy Leary or William S. Burroughs. But given that he had suicidal tendencies since before there was a band called Suicidal Tendencies, the end of the Kurt Cobain story was probably inevitable.
